The Music Academy condolences the death of Sangita Kala Acharya KS Kalidas on 5th August 2026 in Chennai. He was 88.
One of the senior disciples of percussion maestro Palani Subramania Pillai, Kalidas was a well known mridanga vidwan, teacher and writer. He held aloft the Palani School of mridanga playing and celebrated Guru Puja every year with great devotion. He was the recipient of the Sangita Kala Acharya title in 2023.
